Hey, my name is Lake. Thanks for stopping by my website! Here’s a little bit about my journey during and since my college days!
In 2018, I earned a B.A. in Architectural Studies from Mount Holyoke College. Mount Holyoke is a small liberal arts college for women and gender diverse students. I greatly enjoyed my time there. I enjoyed the studious environment and forged strong bonds with a few classmates who remain friends to this day! My studies at MoHo, as students and alums like to call it, focused on Architectural History, Theory and Design. I also studied performing arts such as acting, dance, and music. Through the performing arts, I learned how to connect better to myself and to others. I learned that it is important life work to tell our unique and shared stories - and it matters that we do this in careful and thoughtful ways.
Some of the most significant educational experiences I’ve had were during my time abroad. While in Denmark, I climbed the many interior ladders to reach the top of a wind turbine on the island of Samsø. It was awe-inspiring to contemplate the possibilities for renewable energy. I also created a design for a traffic-calming park in Copenhagen that integrates fire and water to soothe the senses.
Denmark was a deeply introspective stopping point on my journey.
Seeing the windmills in Samsø, Denmark and thinking about renewable energy in the U.S. (2016).
In Colombia, I rode the Medellín Metrocable while learning about transit access and its connections to economic prosperity and overall quality of life. This allowed me to further complicate the lack of transit access in my home state of Maine and how buses do not reach most people in the small towns of Maine. '
We saw how guadua bamboo was being used to create sustainable building materials.
During my last semester at Hampshire College, I choreographed an autobiographical dance that my classmates watched through the all-glass windows of our classroom. My contemplation of architecture has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the power of design in shaping our daily experiences as we walk through our homes, grocery stores, farmer's markets, schools, offices, and more.
I plan to continue on my journey of crafting spaces and experiences that resonate on a deeper level, that heal and inspire. I envision a future where everyone has access to transformative environments. This guiding philosophy infuses every project I undertake, particularly those that serve the general public. Whether creating a piece of recycled textile art, researching sustainable products, or organizing a client's home, I balance contemplation, strategic thinking, and hands-on attention to detail.
By blending different disciplines, we can create innovative solutions. Our actions should benefit ourselves and improve the lives of our community members. Let's get together to share our unique knowledge and make some changes to our world. After all, we are all connected.

If my background and skill set aligns with your organization and you would like to chat more, you can contact me by phone, email, or find me on LinkedIn. I look forward to talking with you!
I carry my sense of adventure and excitement to try new things wherever I go in life.
Outreach + Advocacy Experience
I currently work as an Audience Services Associate at Portland Stage Company, where I inform theater patrons and the public about all of the exciting shows that we have going on! I enjoy talking on the phone, helping people find tickets to their preferred showtimes, and setting up for events.
From 2023 to 2024 I worked as an Events Specialist and an Energy Specialist at Maine Community Solar, where I enrolled Maine residents to save money while powering their homes with solar energy.
From October 2022-April 2023 I worked at Maine People’s Alliance on tenant’s rights organizing as well as advocating for the passage of a statewide Paid Family and Medical Leave policy in Maine.
In 2019, I worked with Maine Green Power, where we enrolled residents in Maine to support renewable energy.
In 2018 I worked with the Maine Democratic Party on voter turnout and engagement.
I have worked on several statewide petitions in Maine: Death with Dignity, Stop the Corridor, and as mentioned above, Paid Family and Medical Leave.
